Exercise To Implement Routewise Fare in Kishtwar by Police & Transport department | KNO

Kishtwar  (KNO) : The Police and Transport departments Kishtwar today undertook the exercise of implementing the Routewise fare for the local passenger vehicles.

The drivers and conductors of all the commercial vehicles attended the programme and received the necessary instructions.Keeping in view the complaints of overharging by the commercial vehicle pliers of various routes, the district police and the district transport department conducted the programme which was attended by around 200 drivers and conductors and received the instructions regarding the routewise fares for the various passenger vehicles .On the occasion The Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary gave the detailed briefing for proper behavior & observance of law by the concerned.

The District Superintendent of Police briefed the drivers and conductors to observe the fairness in charging fares for various stops on different routes. It was intimated that each passenger vehicle shall have authentic list of fare of his route signed by the ARTO pasted on the front wind screen of his vehicle. Beside each passenger vehicle plier shall keep a laminated copy of such list with him for the convenience of the commuters. Each and every plier of the passenger vehicle has been sufficiently briefed of the various provisions of law and despite that if there is any violation the same shall be dealt with heavy hands including registration of FIR under relevant provision of law, said the SSP.

ARTO Kishtwar Abhay Sharma also briefed the vehicle pliers in detail of the instructions regarding the fare charging. On the occasion Dy. SP Operation Kishtwar Nissar Khowja, SHO Police Station Kishtwar Inspector Sameer Jellani and the functionaries of various transport unions were also present. (KNO)
